Rush Radiosurgery recently participated in Brain Tumor Awareness Day. The event, which was hosted by the Rush University Medical Center Neuro-Oncology department, was in honor of May being National Brain Tumor Awareness Month.
At the event, patients and their friends and family members, community residents, etc., were able to learn about the educational and social resources available to them from numerous hospital departments, including neuropsychology, neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, the cancer wellness center, social work, pharmacy, and nutrition.
Rush Radiosurgery had a table and handed out information about brain tumors and how they are treated with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). The center was proud to take part in a day that raised awareness about brain tumors and we hope that it becomes an annual event.
