Preparing for Lung Cancer Treatment with TrueBeam STx

The treatment process at Rush Radiosurgery is focused on the patient as we aim to provide the best experience possible. If you are preparing for TrueBeam™ STx treatment for lung cancer, here are a few steps to take to ensure you are completely comfortable before treatment begins.

Ask questions – As your physician talks through the procedure, ask any questions you may have prior to treatment. We want to ensure you feel completely educated and informed about the treatment process to ease any concerns you may have.

Dress comfortably – Because you’ll be asked to lie on a treatment table during TrueBeam STx treatment, you should dress in clothing you’ll be most comfortable in during the procedure.

Relax – Lung cancer treatment with TrueBeam STx is a completely painless procedure and requires no anesthesia. Some patients even take naps during treatment. If you’d like to, create a playlist with your favorite music for the day of treatment and we can play it for you.

Plan the rest of your day – One of the many benefits of TrueBeam STx treatment is that sessions typically only last 20 minutes with little to no recovery time. After treatment, you are free to plan the rest of your day and return to your normal activities.
