As Chicago continues to experience one of the coldest winters on record, it’s becoming tougher and tougher to get the exercise needed to keep immune systems performing at their best.
Here are a few exercises to work up a sweat in the safety of your home during these tough winter conditions.
Jump rope: This is a great cardio exercise and will get your heart pumping quickly. When jumping, aim to jump up to two inches off the ground and try to only touch the floor with the balls of your feet as you land.
Jumping jacks: You can do this classic move while watching a movie or some TV. Check out this video for the correct jumping jack form.
Dancing: If you and your family or roommates are all stuck inside together, put on some of your favorite songs and get moving! Dancing is a fun, low pressure way to boost your heart rate.
YouTube workouts: YouTube is a great resource for at home workouts. Try simple searches for yoga, pilates or cardio to find some options that you can follow along with.
We hope you stay safe and warm during this winter season!
